Being coached is what inspired me to become a coach. 

 

Midway through my 14-year HR career I started hearing a lot of buzz about the benefits of coaching in the workplace and was becoming quite curious about it. As luck would have it, I met a coach at a social gathering during this time and after talking with him, I decided to try coaching out for myself. Looking back on those few months I worked with that coach, it was like I was experiencing this little pocket of magic in my life. I’d leave my coaching sessions extremely energized and motivated. Serendipitous things seemed to be happening all around me and I even got a big promotion and raise during that time. 

 

Later in my career, the company I was working for was going through unprecedented change and we recognized the need for support in navigating this change so we hired a coach to work with the full leadership team. Shortly after starting our work with this coach, the pandemic hit. I don’t know how we would have gotten through this challenging time without a coach and will forever be grateful to this company for making this investment. I grew amid the chaos of that time period and ultimately realized that I had gotten into HR to help people grow and I saw coaching as an even more impactful way of doing just that.

I founded JL Coaching on the belief that our work-lives offer a ready stage to develop the infinite potential that lies within each of us, not just to excel in our work but to enhance all areas of our lives. When we commit to professional growth, we enter a powerful arena of self-discovery and personal transformation.

I'm a Cleveland, Ohio native who was lured by the sunshine (and tacos) to Austin, TX. When not coaching you'll find me practicing the art of dressage, painting, listening to podcasts and Audible or taking long walks with my husband and our two rascally pups.
